Pura Terra is active in research that supports the health and sustainability of our ocean environments. Currently, we are focused on the protection of coral reefs and their denizens from the impacts of human activity and climate change. Coral reefs, while only a small part of the world’s oceans, are home to almost a third of all named marine species and serve as a primary natural defense against storm surges and flooding. Without healthy reefs, we cannot have a thriving and resilient planet.
Pura Terra Foundation is engaged in supporting and conducting forest related research, with the goal of helping to protect wildlife, promoting the benefits of forests to society, and protecting forest-dependent indigenous cultures. Forests cover approximately one third of the planet’s land mass and are home to the majority of land-based plants, animals, and insects. Forests also play a significant role in mitigating the consequences of climate change, providing water and food security for human populations, and buffering the impacts of severe floods and storms. We believe that forests are essential for a healthy planet and its inhabitants and are critical cultural resources.
Pura Terra Foundation ardently protects Earth’s resources and indigenous cultures, promoting knowledge and sustainable practices to enrich all life.
